Does anybody speak chinese?

If so, can you translate the chinese scenes for us? Particularly when Egg and friends were about to descend into "black blood of the earth land", and when Lo Pan is screaming at Wang in Chinese. Very Happy

My old lady is fluent in Mandarin Chinese, so if they're speaking that (as opposed to Cantonese) she could tell me. The only trouble is that she refuses to watch the movie with me for some reason. Confused

Man, you have to bribe her or something Very Happy Or just get her to watch the scene right before they descend into the "black blood of the earth"....or during the "basket case on wheels" scene when Lo Pan is going postal on Wang and Jack. I've always wondered what in the hells he was saying.

Also, anybody else wonder what "wewondo!" means? The thing Thunder says right before him and his storm buddies toss knives at the sing dings...er...I mean, the chang sings Laughing

Okay, finally sat her down and made her watch it-

...and we're out of luck. Sad She says everyone's speaking Cantonese!

(She did grudgingly admire the movie, though.) Smile

Ha ha! Glad she liked it -- Too bad about the cantonese though. I have a former co-worker who speaks Chinese....maybe she knows Cantonese...although I don't imagine I can get her to watch the movie with me. Crying or Very sad Thanks for trying though.

Hey Guys,

I got my Girlfriend to translate the movie for me!! It's got some great stuff in there...

#1

When Jack and Wang are "nowhere" with the little old basket case on wheels...

<Jack> You got a tongue Dave, ask her yourself.

<Dave> (yelling in Cantonese at Wang) You will tell me, you will tell me or i will kill you.

#2

<Wang> Shin-Dai, the God of the East.

<Jack> Who? Him? This guy?

<Dave> No, not me Mr. Burton (quick little aside in Cantonese) Man, he's stupid

#3

The big fight scene at the end.
Lightning has just closed the Skull entrance behind the retreating Lo-Pan and Thunder, then he ascends on a bolt of Lightning. Egg yells at him

Zam lei go tau arr!!! Which means "I chop off your head!!" It loses something in the translation, but i'm sure you can get the gist of it.

#4

Jack and Gracie are trying to pull apart the Buddha entrance to the elevator, the camera turns to Egg which the Chang-Sing behind him. He says something in Cantonese and the throes something which goes bang.

Yuk-Hoi, Hum Gar Char which means "Move, death to your family" Now once again it loses something in the translation but my girlfriend assures me that it's quite rude.

Those are the mains ones that make me laugh, however if you want any other scene translated just let me know and i will post it up.

Cheers,

Gremlin

<EDIT> the WEWONDO must be the name of the knife because my g/f had no idea, and when they are all in Egg's place about to slide down into the underground, he's pretty much just telling the Chang-Sing to "Hurry up, open the gate and lets go."

I'll have to watch it some more to (try to) get what the "wewon" part means.. Do is knife in Cantonese. Without watching it my guess is that he's just telling them to throw their knives.

First post! Took a while to find a suitable name too... and I get to resurrect a old thread!

Got a question on Chinese dialogue: when Jack and Wang are infiltrating the Wing Kong warehouse as phone repairmen, and they come to the closed door...

Jack: What's that say?
Wang: [Chinese]... Hell of boiling oil.
Jack: You're kidding?
Wang: Yeah I am, it means "keep out"

Ok, so what is it that Wang is saying, and is it the same as "keep out"?
